Are Your Antioxidant Levels Low? Learn How a New Technology Can Tell
Antioxidant supplements offer many important health benefits, including protecting our bodies against dangerous free radicals that accelerate the aging process and increase our risk for cancer and other chronic illnesses. The best sources for antioxidants are fruits and vegetables. Given our busy lives, however, it is difficult for most individuals to eat the recommended five to nine servings of fruit and vegetables each day. That’s why antioxidants supplements are so helpful. However, not all supplements are created equal; some may be more effective than others.
Pharmanex BioPhotonic Scanner Measures Antioxidant Levels
At Raveling Chiropractic Center, our goal is to empower patients to take active control of their health. That’s why we offer the Pharmanex BioPhotonic Scanner, which measures antioxidant level in patients and provides useful feedback about the effectiveness of a patient’s diet and supplement intake.
Wondering if the Pharmanex BioPhotonic Scanner is right for your body’s health needs? Below, our Dunedin chiropractor, Dr. Raveling, answers three of our patients’ most frequently asked questions about Pharmanex.
What is the Pharmanex BioPhotonic Scanner?
The BioPhotonic Scanner is a cutting-edge technology that measures the body’s antioxidant defense network. A two-minute hand scan provides a quick, personal measurement of your antioxidant levels. The machine, developed by doctors and physicists at a top research university, uses light to non-invasively measure carotenoid antioxidant levels in the skin.
Why is it important to know my body’s antioxidant levels?
Knowing your body’s antioxidant levels is key to improving your overall health. Using feedback from the BioPhotonic Scanner, our wellness team will create a personalized nutritional assessment for patients, which includes recommendations for improving diet, supplementation level and overall lifestyle.
How do I receive a scan?
We will be offering scans every Friday at our wellness center. These scans are fast and convenient – patients may visit before or after work or on their lunch hour. The scan will measure how well your supplements are working and whether they are actually protecting your body by boosting your immune system.
